The Pantheon of Modern Gods

(The Misty List and Bower Edition)

This is a list of all of the deities who have been Named to the Pantheon on the Mercedes-lackey and Bower mailing lists, by either the Lady Thessayly, Goddess of Nomenclature, or by Cennydd, the God of Karma and Avatar of Nomenclature.Ý If you were officially named to a position and your name does not appear on this list, please contact the Avatar at <kenny@udel.edu>.Ý If you would like to be named to a position that seems to be in an existing God or Goddesses demesne, you can apply directly to them for the status of either Avatar or Demi-God or Demi-Goddess.Ý Then it is just a matter of getting lots of worshippers and tithes so that you can eventually grow to be a Major God or Goddess. And it'll be legal as "church on Sunday." Naming Ceremonies

These ceremonies will be updated as necessary, with new ceremonies added and old ones deleted.Ý I will post a notice to the Bower and to the Misty List when changes have been made. 

Be it known, that I, Cennydd, Avatar of the Goddess of Nomenclature do hereby Name the Lady Yvonne Shadowshape to the Godhead of of Goddess of Kelpies, Selkies, and other Water-Borne.Ý Into her keeping, I commend all those supernatural creatures of the watery realms.Ý In token of my welcome to her as she joins the Pantheon, I gift her with the Golden Net of the Melusine.Ý Every strand of this net is shaped of the golden hair of the melusine, surrendered willingly and with joy as a gift for the Goddess.Ý When cast into any body of water by the Goddess, this net will allow her to draw forth any of her creatures, the Water-Borne, wheresoever they might be.Ý Welcome, Lady of the Water-Borne to the Pantheon!

Be it also known, that I Name the Lady Sorana Shadowcat to the Godhead of Goddess of Winged Lions.Ý By virtue of my authority as Avatar of the Goddess of Nomenclature, I give into her demesne the care and guardianship of the Winged Lions of the world.Ý In recognition of this elevation, I gift her with a tapestry depicting the foremost Winged Lion of history, the Lion of Saint Mark, picked out in silken and gold thread against the background of the Bower of the Lilac Fairy, where the Lion has been known to visit.Ý Welcome, Goddess of Flions.

In Recognition of these titles and the sacred nature of this Naming, I hereunto affix my NAME:
